2024 AIG Women’s Open: Full leaderboard and money breakdown

Lydia Ko’s triumph at the 2024 AIG Women’s Open on the iconic Old Course at St. Andrews marked a historic moment in her already illustrious career. The New Zealand golfer, who recently secured Olympic gold and LPGA Hall of Fame status, demonstrated her continued dominance in the sport by capturing her third major title.

With a final round of 3-under 69, Ko broke away from a three-way tie with a clutch birdie on the par-4 18th, finishing two strokes ahead of a competitive field. Her victory at the AIG Women’s Open not only showcased her skill but also highlighted her resilience and determination to achieve greatness in the sport.

Ko’s performance at the AIG Women’s Open was nothing short of spectacular, as she navigated the challenging conditions at St. Andrews with precision and poise. Her ability to stay calm under pressure was evident as she delivered key shots when it mattered most, particularly on the final hole.

The win at the 2024 AIG Women’s Open adds another major title to her name, her first since 2016, solidifying her status as one of the greatest golfers of her generation. Ko’s victory also carries special significance, as it came on one of golf’s most hallowed grounds, making it a moment she and her fans will cherish for years to come.

However, the AIG Women’s Open was not without its share of heartbreaks for other top contenders. World No. 1 Nelly Korda, who had high hopes of securing another major title, faltered in the final stretch. A bogey on the penultimate hole dashed her chances of a playoff, leaving her tied for second with a score of 5-under par.

This result was a disappointing end for Korda, who had been in strong form throughout the tournament but couldn’t capitalize on crucial moments in the final round.

The competition also saw notable performances from defending champion Lilia Vu, Ruoning Yin, and Jiyai Shin, all of whom tied with Korda for second place. Despite their impressive efforts, they were unable to overcome Ko’s stellar finish.

Vu, in particular, struggled on the final hole of the AIG Women’s Open, bogeying the 18th and missing out on a chance to force a playoff. While these players showed glimpses of brilliance, Ko’s consistent and composed play ultimately set her apart as the deserving champion of the 2024 AIG Women’s Open.
