Breaking 100 and subsequently 90 has provided everyone with captivating story of average golf’s king, Barstool Trent, and he’s got news for us. THE SHOW WILL GO ON!
He joined his ever-loyal hype man and caddy of the Breaking series, Frankie Borelli, for Frankie’s Barstool Golfs series, and announced that he would be continuing the Breaking series with Breaking 85.
Trent Has An Announcement | Barstool Golfs
Per usual Frankie’s hyped spirit was visible once Trent laid out his next steps, and both seem to be ready for any obstacle along the way of getting Trent on his way to breaking his next goal of 85. Frankie, as of recent, seems to be the only member of the Fore Play Golf guys to be pumping out consistent golf content so it will be great to have Trent back on his road to breaking new bests in his golf game.
If you are following Barstool Golfs, the competition Frankie hosts which pits members of Barstool Sports against each other for 9 holes, you’ll know that Trent is one of the more inclined golfers of that group. Here’s a scoreboard of the current scores from guests who have appeared.
A respectable 45 puts Trent in 3rd out of his office mates, which hopefully after some time off, has him feeling good going into his next Breaking undertaking. Seemingly throughout Trent’s newfound confidence after breaking 90 was evident. Even getting to a point on a Par Five in which he considered becoming “Cocky Trent” for breaking 85, who would ask things such as “Where’s the first tee, and what’s the course record.” Trust me Trent, the golf gods are fickle, don’t taunt them too much or you’ll find it difficult breaking any number near 90. If you’d rather hear a more blunt route it’d be “You’re not that guy pal.” Let’s stick to those humble Iowa roots brother.
Going back to his personal record occurrence, Trent shot an 88 in his Breaking 90 at the RainDance National Golf Course in Windsor, Colorado in late May. It was met with an outpouring of support and congratulatory remarks from the golf community, from personalities like Paige Spiranac to recent Olympic silver medalist, Tommy Fleetwood.
With his continued efforts to get better at the game of golf Trent and Barstool Sports have done a phenomenal job of documenting the journey to provide inspiration for average golfers everywhere. It’s even led to other personalities inside the industry to adapt the breaking concept to their own games as an obstacle to overcome, a la Bryson Dechambeau breaking 50 from the front tees with various guests.
We’ll have to wait patiently for each release and attempt in Breaking 85 for Trent, and see if his coach, John Tillery, continues to shepherd his pupil to success. What I know for sure is I will be on the lookout and tracking his next venture as Trent continues to be the embodiment of what all amateurs/Average golfers should be, positive and willing to work to improve!
