Watch as Bryson DeChambeau shares an awesome moment with Johnson Wagner
Bryson DeChambeau captured his second U.S. Open title on Sunday, holding off a charge from Rory McIlroy to win his second major.
After McIlroy missed not once but TWICE from within four feet on putts, DeChambeau just needed a par on 18 to seal the win. The LIV golfer got into some trouble with a tee shot that went right and then his second going into the bunker but it was his third shot out of the sand that got him the big win.
DeChambeau had a big sand save as he got the ball to within four feet, then made his par putt and celebrated by throwing his arms in the air. Following the celebration and presentation, DeChambeau returned to the course with darkness already setting in and shared an awesome moment with Johnson Wagner of Golf Central.
Wagner was discussing Bryson DeChambeau’s shot from the bunker and even attempted to re-create it, with it not going so well. But after the first attempt DeChambeau came out to greet him and give him some advice in about a four-minute clip:
Between signing for hours and then doing this, Bryson DeChambeau has pretty much had the best post big win PR tour of any athlete in modern history. https://t.co/ibnsWazXls

As you see, the second attempt went much better with Bryson on the mic. It was a cool moment and just the latest ‘good guy’ moment for Bryson on the day.
Is Bryson DeChambeau changing his image?
Just as early as last year, Bryson DeChambeau was considered cocky and didn’t have a big fan base, especially after the move to LIV. He declared Augusta a “par 67 for me” back in 2020 because he can reach all the par fives in two with no problem. From there, fans soured on Bryson, especially with a disappointing showing that year.
But we are starting to see a shift in how DeChambeau is being perceived by fans and this weekend had a big reason why, including the clip above.
DeChambeau has been on a tear as of late in majors, winning the U.S. Open after finishing second in the PGA Championship. He also had a sixth-place finish at The Masters this year and really could put himself in an even better spot with a good showing at The Open in July.
