Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited sequel to perhaps the most famous golf movie out there, is coming this summer. It features a star-studded cast, many of whom are returning to the film from the original sequel. That includes the titular character’s actor, Adam Sandler.
The latest, and perhaps the final given how close the release date is, movie trailer features a host of talented golfers showcasing their swings and more opposite Sandler’s Gilmore. Here’s who you can expect to see in the new movie.
Happy Gilmore 2 shows Adam Sandler and a ton of golfers

The trailer initially shows Happy with a Hall of Fame bust next to Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Tiger Woods, the best golfers in history. Now that Gilmore is out of his prime, he’s going to struggle against the likes of Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, and John Daly, the latter of whom says to Gilmore, “Come on, man. Grip it and rip it.” The film seems to center mainly on Gilmore, who’s “retired,” and his journey to get back to top-level golf against some of the world’s best players.
Those are the only golfers who officially show up in the teaser trailer, but there are so many others set to appear in the film. Per IMDb, the film stars Scheffler, McIlroy, DeChambeau, Daly, and the following pro golfers:
- Jack Nicklaus
- Brooks Koepka
- Jordan Spieth
- Will Zalatoris
- Justin Thomas
- Rickie Fowler
- Keegan Bradley
- Collin Morikawa
- Xander Schauffele
Lee Trevino, a legendary golfer turned analyst, is also in the film. Thomas pulls double duty, appearing as himself and playing an uncredited spectator in the crowd. The film stars several A-list actors and celebrities as well, including Sandler, Ben Stiller, and:
- Travis Kelce
- Christopher McDonald
- Julie Bowen
- Margaret Qualley
- Benny Safdie
- Bad Bunny
- Nick Swardson
- Dennis Dugan
The film is slated for release in July of 2025 on Netflix. It is not expected to hit theaters, as Sandler has an exclusive partnership with the streaming titan. The last few movies of his, including Hustle and Spaceman, have been exclusive to the platform.
