LIV Golf signs Amateur Champ who urinated in Raes Creek at Augusta

LIV has snagged the services of the reigning U.S. Amateur champion José Luis Ballester, the latest in a long line of Spaniard superstars to take the plunge into LIV waters. Ballester, who was a superstar at Arizona State University (which seems to be a pipeline to LIV as of late), recently finished his college career with a T4 in the NCAA Division 1 Championship.

    Other LIV Sun Devil’s include:

    • Jon Rahm
    • Phil Mickelson
    • Paul Casey

But, unfortunately for the super-talented Spaniard, he made even more waves when he urinated into Rae’s Creek at the Masters earlier this year. I know you all remember that. According to reports, he will replace Luis Masaveu on the Fireballs roster.

Ballester finished third overall in the PGA Tour University standings this season and was eligible for exemptions on the Korn Ferry Tour and the final stage of Q school with unlimited sponsor exemptions into the PGA Tour for the rest of the year and 2026.

But that has all changed now. He will debut on LIV at the tour’s Virginia event this weekend.

No word yet on the contract specifics, but this is an ongoing story. Check back for details.
