In the world of professional golf, few names have been as impressive as Nelly Korda’s in recent times. Her performance on the course has been nothing short of historic, making her one of the sport’s brightest stars.

Nelly Korda recently opened up about the key factors that have led to her remarkable success this season. This year has been a great one for Korda, with six wins out of seven starts, including her second major victory at the Chevron Championship.

In an open conversation, she revealed that her outstanding performance was due to a significant change in her training routine: having her coaches travel with her to tournaments.

Nelly Korda and The Game-Changing Strategy

Speaking to the press in the previous days to the 2024 US Women’s Open, Nelly Korda attributed much of her success to having her coaches, Jamie Mulligan and Brett Lederer, travel with her to tournaments.

“I’ve had Jamie or Brett out here almost every single week,” she said. “The only week that I haven’t had someone out was during Cognizant, and I just didn’t really hit it that well that week.”

This constant presence of her coaches has been a game-changer, allowing her to maintain her form and quickly correct any issues in her swing.

Reflecting on her previous years, Nelly Korda noted the difference having a coach physically present made.

“I rarely had a coach out here with me last year and the years before,” she mentioned. “And I love the fact that I have one out here now because before, if I wasn’t hitting it well… it’s different to have someone out here versus FaceTiming them and trying to figure it out on your own.”

The immediate feedback and hands-on guidance have been crucial in fine-tuning her game and ensuring she performs at her best.

One of the standout aspects of Nelly Korda’s game is her mental resilience and ability to thrive under pressure. In her discussion, Korda emphasized the importance of having a supportive team around her.

“Making sure that my team is taking time for me as well and coming out and making sure that we’re all dedicated to each other has kind of really been the thing that has changed this year,” she stated.

This cohesive team dynamic has enabled her to approach each tournament with confidence, knowing that she has a solid support system in place.

Nelly Korda also highlighted the importance of creativity on the course.

“If I’m not hitting it good that day, I can still shoot well. I need to work on my creativity because I feel like when I started working on technique so much, I lost the creativity,” she explained.

This balance between technical precision and creative play has been essential in navigating the complexities of professional golf.

Family support has also played a big part. Nelly Korda‘s sister and also LPGA Star, Jessica Korda, and her father, Petr Korda, a former world-class tennis player, have been there for her every step of the way, cheering her on at events and offering emotional support.

Nelly Korda’s ability to handle stressful situations and her dedication to constant improvement are really inspiring. With her coaches and a supportive team behind her, she’s gone from being a good player to one of the all-time greats, setting a new standard in women’s golf.

The golfing world is watching to see what this exceptional athlete can achieve as she prepares for the challenges ahead.
