In the world of golf, two names have been making waves recently: Nelly Korda and Scottie Scheffler. Both players have been on an incredible winning streak, showcasing their skills and determination on the green. They simply rule the world of golf. Period.
Nelly Korda won her 5th tournament in a row by taking the title at the Chevron Championship, the first major of the 2024 season, on the same weekend that Scottie Scheffler won the RBC Heritage, his 4th win in his last 5 starts (including The Masters). Korda’s victory marks a historic moment in her career, tying the LPGA Tour record for more consecutive wins, held by Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam.
Scottie Scheffler was asked about Nelly Korda's five straight victories on the @LPGA.

Scheffler is no slouch, threatening several legendary records on the PGA Tour. His victory at the RBC Heritage was the first by a PGA Tour player the week after winning a Major since Tiger Woods won the 2006 World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, one week after winning the 2006 PGA Championship. If we are talking about winning the RBC Heritage a week after The Masters, the last one to do so (before Scheffler) was Bernhard Langer in 1985.
Scottie Scheffler on Nelly Korda and vice versa
Nelly Korda’s impressive streak has caught the attention of fellow golfers, including Scottie Scheffler, who also happens to be on a historic winning run.
During the RBC Heritage winner press conference, Scheffler was asked about Korda’s impressive performances. He had nothing but praise for Nelly, saying the following:
“One of the people here asked me like, ‘is this turning into a competition between you and Nelly’ and I was like ‘oh man, I think if it was a competition she’d got me pretty beat right now’ I mean, five wins in-a-row, you know she had that T16 at the beginning of the year which was just terrible, can’t believe she did that.”
“It’s pretty special stuff, I mean, to win four times in a row and then show up in a major championship and win is extremely impressive. So I’m extremely happy for her. I think we’ve all seen the golf swing. I wish I could see it more in person, but we don’t really run into them too much outside of some TaylorMade shoots and stuff like that, but obviously some great start, great golf, some historic stuff, and you know, hopefully she keeps it up.”
The mutual respect and admiration between Korda and Scheffler are evident in their comments about each other’s streaks. Korda has also praised Scheffler’s play, stating,
“Scottie’s been playing some great golf, I mean, he’s been on a roll, and it’s great to see him doing so well. He’s a great player and a great guy, and I’m happy for his success…”
“I don’t think anyone can ever say anything bad about Scottie, I love his morals, I love his attitude out there, I just love the way he goes about his business. He inspires so many around him, including myself…”
“He wants to win every tournament he tees it up in and that’s every girl that’s out here competing too, and I think that you just have to go about your business, you can get lost in the the articles, you can get lost in the expectations, but I think, if you just stick to your true self, I feel like you can live in your own little bubble and enjoy it a lot more.”
The golf world is watching with bated breath as both Korda and Scheffler continue to make history with their impressive play. With Korda’s five consecutive wins and Scheffler’s recent victory at the RBC Heritage, both golfers are showing no signs of slowing down.
There is no information that Scottie Scheffler and Nelly Korda have a close relationship beyond the fact that they are both sponsored by Nike and TylorMade. In fact, they spoke for the first time during the filming of TaylorMade’s promotional video to celebrate Christmas 2023. But the truth is, the admiration is mutual. Game respects game.
