Tiger Woods has suffered another significant blow to his golf career. After skipping the Players Championship this week, the legendary golfer took to X to reveal some bad news.

Woods posted a message on his account to reveal that he has ruptured his Achillies. Here is the message that Tiger Woods posted on his account Tuesday afternoon:

As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured. This morning, Dr. Charlton Stucken of Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida performed a minimally-invasive Achilles tendon repair for a ruptured tendon.

“The surgery went smoothly, and we expect a full recovery,” added Dr. Stucken. I am back home now and plan to focus on my recovery and rehab, thank you for all the support.

It’s another tough thing for Woods to overcome as he will now be out indefinitely. He did reveal the timeframe for a return but with an injury like that, it will sideline him for months.

Tiger Woods has yet to play on the PGA Tour this season and was set to play at The Genesis Invitational last month, however he withdrew after the death of his mother. Over the past few months, Woods has played in the TGL events.

He’s dealt with several injuries over the past few years including several major back surgeries. He also almost lost his leg in a car crash back in 2022.
