Brandt Newell Snedeker (born December 8, 1980, in Nashville, Tennessee) was introduced to golf by his grandmother and developed his skills at Vanderbilt University before turning professional in 2004. He swiftly established himself as a notable competitor on the Nationwide Tour with two victories, which subsequently led to his promotion to the PGA Tour in 2007.

In the same year, Snedeker was named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year following an impressive season that included his first tour victory at the Wyndham Championship.
