The 2024 John Deere Classic concluded with a spectacular finish at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois, showcasing impressive performances from both established and rising golf talents.

The John Deere Classic lived up to expectations with exciting play throughout the four days of competition.

Davis Thompson emerged as the champion, securing his first PGA Tour title in dominant fashion. Thompson’s performance t the John Deere Classic was nothing short of remarkable, as he set a new 72-hole scoring record for the tournament with a total of 28-under 256, breaking the previous record by one stroke.

His final round at the John Deere Classic was particularly impressive, featuring a blistering start with five birdies in the first six holes. Thompson’s victory was sealed with a 7-under 64 on Sunday, which included a spectacular 45-foot birdie putt on the opening hole.

Thompson’s win at the John Deere Classic was characterized by his consistent and aggressive play throughout the tournament. He maintained a strong lead during the final round, ultimately clinching a four-shot victory.

His exceptional performance not only earned him the prestigious title but also secured his entry into the next three major tournaments, including the British Open at Royal Troon and his debut at the Masters next April.

While Thompson dominated the leaderboard of the John Deere Classic, other players also delivered noteworthy performances. C.T. Pan, Luke Clanton, and Michael Thorbjornsen tied for second place, each shooting an impressive 63 in the final round.

Pan’s strong finish, including birdies on the 16th and 17th holes, earned him a spot in the upcoming British Open. Notably, Luke Clanton, a Florida State sophomore, became the first amateur since 1958 to finish in the top 10 in consecutive PGA Tour starts, highlighting the emergence of young talent in professional golf.
