Scottie Scheffler traveled to Paris to prepare for the gold medal race in the 2024 Summer Golf Olympics.

Scheffler was accompanied by his wife, Meredeth Scheffler, and infant son, Bennet Scheffler. The 2024 Summer Olympics will be held at the Le Golf National course in Guyancourt, France. Le Golf National incorporates 3 golf courses, the Olympic tournament will take place on the Albatros course.

Scottie Scheffler and his family explored the city as they arrived in Paris. Scheffler says visiting the iconic Louvre museum was a highlight for him and his family. “We were there for 2 hours, it felt like I could’ve been there all day exploring around looking at the old paintings.” Scheffler said, according to The Dallas News.

Scheffler also made his way around the tennis table this past Sunday. He was able to watch Simon Biles this afternoon during the Women’s gymnastics final take home the gold medal.

Scheffler is a 28 year old American professional golfer. He is originally from Ridgewood, New Jersey. He was named the best golfer for the year 2023 and 2024, making over $28 million dollars in the year of 2024. His wife Meredeth has been working for PEOPLE since the year 2022.

Scheffler’s approach remains the same, dialing into the competition.

“The field is incredibly strong. It’s an honor to compete here. Winning a gold medal would be an incredible honor. But my approach remains the same – I show up as myself, ready to compete.” Scheffler states.

Scottie Scheffler is just days away from competition, preparation is key. He will look at the course and practice on Tuesday and Wednesday. All eyes will be on the world’s No. 1 golfer as he competes this Thursday. If Scheffler takes home the gold medal, he will become the second American golfer to win alongside his teammate Xander Schauffele.

In the past 10 tournaments Scheffler has competed in, he won 6. He had an amazing performance at the Masters, leading the final four days at 11 under. Scheffler has won 12 PGA tour tournaments and is currently ranked #1 in the world. He is currently favored to win the Olympic gold medal.

Taking the course on Thursday Scheffler will be alongside his teammates, 2016 Tokyo Golf gold medalist Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark, and Collin Moriawa who will also carry the USA flag. He is projected to tee off  at 3:11 AM CT. He will be paired with Rory McIlroy (Ireland) and Ludvig Aberg (Sweden).
