The Masters is coming in two weeks. The Texas Children’s Houston Open was over the weekend, and the Valero Texas Open is this coming weekend. LIV Golf Miami is also this weekend, and after that, all eyes will turn to Augusta National.
The best of the best are going to be in attendance (sans a couple due to Tour status and health). The world’s best golfers will be competing for a title that some of the greatest in golf history have earned: Masters champion. However, the latest batch of odds suggests that it’s largely a two-man race.
Masters odds paint a picture ahead of tournament

Scottie Scheffler is the world number one. He’s also the defending champion at Augusta National, and he’s a two-time champion in the last three years. Rory McIlroy is a four-time Major champion and the reigning Players Championship winner. He’s also the world number two, and he’s a green jacket from a career grand slam.
Those two are apparently going to be the two contenders for the title this year if the odds are to be believed. The latest batch features a thin margin between them and a wider margin between them and the rest of the field.
Scheffler remains the betting favorite even after a close loss in his final tune-up before the Masters. He is +450 to win. McIlroy, who finished tied for fifth in that same tournament, is +550 to break his Major drought and secure his green jacket.
The next-closest competitor, per CBS Sports’ latest odds, is Ludvig Aberg at +1500. Jon Rahm, the 2023 winner, is also +1500, but that’s a fair margin between the top two competitors. Last year, McIlroy finished tied for 22nd at Augusta National.
The rest of the top contenders are:
- Collin Morikawa +1700
- Bryson DeChambeau +1700
- Xander Schauffele +2100
- Hideki Matsuyama +2400
- Justin Thomas +2100
- Tyrrell Hatton +3100
- Brooks Koepka +3100
- Patrick Cantlay +3200
- Cameron Smith +3600
- Shane Lowry +3600
- Will Zalatoris +3800
- Jordan Spieth +3800
- Viktor Hovland +4400
- Tommy Fleetwood +4800
- Joaquin Niemann +5000
- Dustin Johnson +5500
- Matt Fitzpatrick +5500
- Russell Henley +6000
- Cameron Young +6000
Any one of these golfers could come away with the prize, including some longer shots like Robert MacIntyre (+7500), Brian Harman (+1300), or Phil Mickelson (+28000). But the odds still believe it’s going to come down to Scheffler vs. McIlroy.
