Scottie Scheffler compited in the par 3 contest of The Masters Tournament 2024 and, as usual, had a member of his family as his caddie. This time, it was his sister, Sara, who accompanied the world number one as his wife, Meredith, is in the final weeks of her pregnancy.
As usual, the par 3 contest featured several humorous moments and one of them was starring Scottie Scheffler and his sister, albeit unwittingly. The incident occurred when Sara Scheffler took a shot in behalf of Scottie during the competition and her shot went into the water.
One of the announcers described the moment as “a little fat,” but his expression didn’t come out the way he wanted it to and it looked like he was calling Sara Scheffler a “little fat.” He caught on immediately and his exit strategy delighted the fans:
“Sister Sarah… Scheffler. Little fat … the shot. She is obviously very thin.”

Sara Scheffler had her own golfing experience, although she did not come close to Scottie’s level in the sport. Sara graduated from the University of Houston (Austin) with a degree in finance and sustainability.
Scottie has two other sisters, Callie and Molly. Callie has been the most involved in golf, playing on the Texas A&M team and also caddying for her brother at the 2016 US Open. Molly also played golf, albeit at a lower level, and currently has a degree in psychology, also from Texas A&M.
Scottie Scheffler May Not Finish Masters Tournament
Scottie Scheffler is the overwhelming favorite to win the 2024 Masters. However, the Texan (born in New Jersey) may not be able to finish the tournament due to a much more important event.
His wife, Meredith, is just three weeks away from giving birth to the couple’s first child. Scottie Scheffler recently stated that he would not hesitate to withdraw from Augusta National if the time came too soon:
“I’ll be out of here! I think first child wins over quite a… over many things in my life. If she calls me while I’m on the 17th, then I better go home,” Scheffler told the press covering the par 3 contest.
Scottie Scheffler is not the only player in the 2024 Masters field in this situation, as Sam Burns’ wife is also expecting their child. In Burns’ case, his wife’s due date is only a week away, so his chances of being called up are much higher.
Scheffler comes to Augusta National Golf Club with two wins and a runner-up finish in his last three tournaments. He has seven top-10 finishes in eight tournaments during the 2024 season.
