Going into Sunday’s final round at the 2025 Masters Tournament, we were primed for another showdown between Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau at a major. Following Bryson’s win at the US Open last year, McIlroy was out for revenge and wanted to complete the Grand Slam. He was locked in despite a shakey start and as he took the lead on the first nine, DeChambeau struggled and it all but officially ended his day. On Sunday, Rory McIlroy finally got over the hump at Augusta, winning the 89th Masters Tournament in a playoff over Justin Rose. It completed the Grand Slam of Golf Majors as the green jacket had avoided McIlroy in the 17 years he’s been playing in the tournament.
